10 practice with new fonts
I downloaded some new fonts and have been playing around with them this week. All irl samples this time bc I am in sore need of practice.
The first two edits feature the late Sakurai Atsushi from Buck-Tick. I haven't kept up to date with happenings in the visual kei scene for a while now, so learning about the recent passings -- his last year & The GazettE's Reita in April -- was a huge shock. Rest in peace legends, you were both far too young.
It's always hard finding high quality resources from the 80s-90s, so I went with an aged vintage poster look that sort of carried through for the rest of the covers as well.
I feel very meh when it comes to my execution of this style... like I either overcomplicate or oversimplify things and there is no between. I'm of the opinion that a lot of things that would look good on an anime cover don't translate well over to irl edits (and vice versa) if that makes any sense? So I try my best to approach these designs differently which... tends to be somewhat of a struggle.
Idk. Hopefully I can get better at this the more I practice xD.
